Hi James.
I just quit my job for far less than this. I am sorry to see that the work conditions is so bad where your friend work. I hope there is somewhere else she can work? This is not a healthy place to work, my advice would be to follow Eric Cartman of South Parks lead, and repeat what he say: "Screw you guys... I'm going home!"

If it is as bad as you describe, start looking for ways to find a new job, instead of improving the impossible. :)

Give your friend a hug, she might need it.

I wish I could agree with you, but sad to say I can not. I have a friend who is in the worst job to date. She gets yelled at EVERY DAY, CURSED at EVERY DAY. And thats just by costumers! Her supervisor is an idiot! She is the supervisor, yet she can not preform half the jobs my wife does. When she does try, she messes everything up. The office where my wife works has not gotten a raise in 4 years, yet that have more than doubled their work load. Above you listed 12 things people can do to make their job better. #1&#2 No food or beverages in the building.#3&#6 Not allowed to give or get complements.#4 we will get to later. #5 No talking about personal life in the building or on the clock. #7 Not a whole lot of positive things to talk about. #8 Thats one that is being done. #9 they also do that one. #10 No jokes, you might offend someone. #11&#12 No comment. Now as for #4, Would you?
