I have some interesting results from my employee recognition survey. I still need more participants to my survey, but I want to reveal some results so far. I just focus on one thing only today what is most important, positive feedback from your co-workers or from your boss?

So far it seems that people that prefer positive feedback from co-workers are happier with both their boss and with their co-workers than those that prefer positive feedback from their boss.

But it does not matter if you prefer positive feedback from your boss or your manager, it seems like either way you are a bit happier with your co-workers.

Not very interesting so far, and it seems that co-workers might have a bigger impact on job happiness than management does.

The interesting fact about positive feedback is this: Of the people claiming that positive feedback is most valuable when it comes from a co-worker we find 53.33 % men almost 50/50. And how many men do find positive feedback from their boss as most important? The answer is 92.86 % Only 7.14 % of this group is women. This is a huge difference. So if you are a boss, should you give more positive feedback to the men, and encourage the men to give positive feedback to the women?

Is this because men are more ambitious? Is it because women are more caring?
