Today I am presenting an easy to implement tool to boost work morale, mood and fun around the office. Just give your co-workers or employees the true joy of applause. We got one kind of activity that we manages to complete ten to fifteen times a day, and for each employee that manages to complete this task, gets to put a magnet on a white board to symbolize that we are getting closer to the goals of fifteen completed tasks. And for each person standing up we cheer and applaud. Sometimes we fail to notice it in all the other havoc resulting in one or two clapping their hands all red, but those times when everyone cheers and join in is priceless. The mood rise like a rocket and people is laughing; even the customers is wondering why we are cheering and gets amused. It is a win win win win situation for everybody.

So the challenge of today is to find a reason to make applause a part of your day at work! Try to give a great applause to someone that just enters the room, they will feel GREAT! And you will feel great, and all others that clap hands will feel great. Clapping your hands should replace happy pills as a drug, it is so effective.

So let’s sit back and imagine what it would feel like to be Spanish at Ernst Happel Stadium during the final in Euro 2008. I know that I got sucked into all the joy, as I was standing just about 20 feet away from the Spanish crowd this day.

And for those that have no interest in soccer, let’s take a look at Michael Jordan’s last game and standing ovation. Imagine being in this crowd feeling all this positive energy! WOW!

So if you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands or should it be if you’re in need of happiness clap your hands?   Have a super fantastic day!

Seth writes ” We notice what we choose to notice.”  - This is a reminder to all leaders and employess out there, what you focus on, is importnat, as results demands the right focus. Great idea Seth!

The entire industry is gathered here to learn and inspire each other at a two day conference. But we were in for our greatest surprise during dinner. The award ceremony was held and winners in nine different business areas where announced. Whereas the winner of the best customer service in the Mobile market and the overall winner of total 56 call centers was to be decided. Read more… »

monday_morningToday is Monday, the dreaded day full of crap, the awful great day I am about to puke at start loving. I hate love to wake up in the morning on Mondays, knowing there is going to be chaos and stress a fun and challenging day week at work. I am going to show you how you will start looking forward for Monday morning.

  1. Get in early so you have some time to think before the day starts, 30 minutes early will do the trick. Plan your week, and set a goal! Day by day and a goal for the week. Keep track and celebrate with a snack if you reach some of the goals
  2. Smile to everyone you meet, say hello and good morning with an over the top enthusiastic voice, getting other people to smile.
  3. Turn on the coffee machine and make coffee for the slobs that sleeps longer than you do
  4. Create a “ten things I will do during this week” list.
  5. If you have long time to plan, get lots of kids that will ruin your weekends.
  6. Find a few things you want to do on Monday, and finish before you can take lunch.
  7. Wear a super hero costume, or at least talk someone else into wearing one on Monday for your amusement.
  8. Create a Monday competition with a co-worker, most completed tasks or whatever suits you.
  9. Sneak in on Sunday and do all your Monday chores, and then go around and waste the entire Monday on practical jokes.
  10. Make sure you appreciate a co-worker, have a mission to make someone else’s day fabulous.
  11. Bring cake/candy/snack/beverages to work – share if that makes you happy.
  12. Plan something you really like to do for Monday evening, so you can look forward to it during Monday.
  13. Save a fun task that is not urgent for Mondays.
  14. Bring a camera and take pictures of the other tired faces, print them and put them on the wall.

Have a happy Monday, and make sure you find your way back to my blog by Friday Coffee break Fun.
