Beauty of humans are found in the hearts
Glory of humans are in good actions
Heroes within them welded in the soul
no fear for self
In the darkest moments heroes are made
Grief is found in our tears
Comfort is found in joined arms

Rest in peace…

I drowe thru Oslo right after the bombing, the smell of the explotions and the news on the radio made me cry. It is impossible to comprehend these awful actions. My thoughts are with friends and family of the victims and survivors. I would also praise Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg for great leadership in these hard times. He lost friends and fellow Labour Party members, still he is able to bring us all together. I hope this will inspire young people to engage in politics regardless of political view in respect of the victims.

I am just now sitting in a hotel room in the middle of Oslo, not far away from the castle. I am practicing my presentation for tomorrow. This presentation will also be my debut as a public speaker. I am not nervous just yet, but how should I create a great opening line? Planning to be funny just doesn’t work.

I am going to talk about motivation, how to motivate each individual employee. I am going to talk about motivation principles, and I am going to talk about soccer…

It is late in the evening now, tomorrow I am pushing myself to complete a new challenge and realize an old dream. If I can do it, you can… an ambition is just a dream if it is without action, take your first step to challenge yourself today.

Good night!

I hope that the New Year has been good so far for you. I know that my blog have not been updated in a while. What can I say? Well I have been busy. I quit my last job in telecom and found a new and exciting job; I will tell you more about it. I have moved from the south of Norway to the Midwest part of Norway, closer to my childhood home. I live in a postcard, the nature here is amazing with mountains rising high in all directions. I live in a small valley at the end of a fjord. I have still not moved my camera, so pictures will be provided later on.

My new job at Wenaas

Wenaas is a strong brand in work wear and safety gear with last year sales around 137 million dollars. Wenaas is a part of the Kwintet Group, the number one supplier of high-quality professional wear for all purposes and industries with a 940 million dollar annual turnover. First of all this is a huge change in products, a transaction from telecom to work wear, textiles and clothing. But I am not hired as a textiles expert, which would be a bad call. I am hired as leader of national customer services. My job is to create the best customer service in Norway. This will be a great challenge with high demanding customers that have great expectations. There is no longer a quick fix in restarting computer equipment. There are massive production lines and logistics. There are a dozen Wenaas-stores and there is a lot of customer interaction. Wenaas has a long history. The company has been around for almost a century. This is a traditional manufacturing plant, focus on products and sales. My challenge is to make a transition to a more customer service oriented view. The good news, Wenaaas has muscle and power to create the best customer support, and I am happy to be a member of the team.

Motivational Speaker

The next change in my life is that I am going to make my debut as a public speaker at a call center conference in May 2011 in Oslo. (http://www.callcenterdagene.no/) – The speech will be in Norwegian and I am going to talk about:

How to find out what’s increasing motivation among different employees

How a simple, systematic approach yields benefits

How your leadership style affect your employees motivation and engagement

How to change focus from frustration to motivation.

This conference is the largest of its kind in Scandinavia and I am thrilled to get this opportunity. If you are interested in attending, check out http://www.callcenterdagene.no/
I am not still settled 100 % into my new daily routines, but I will try to get productive with my blog on a weekly basis.

As I was saying. I had to move to get my new job. I will finish this post by bringing you a picture of my new home.

I live about 2km up the valley. This is a small place with about 800 people. I love it here. Is it any wonder?

I wish you a great day!
